Mina 1333 Beirut Central District, Lebanon DESCRIPTION   IMAGES

Residential

Aborted 2004

Total Area: 4380m2

The MINA 1333 sits on one of the most prestigious sites in the Beirut Central District. As a response to the maximum allowable footprint area which is limited to 50% of the overall site surface, we propose to layout the residences along the perimeter of the property lines making way for a 70m long oval garden that creates a void in the center of the plot. The proposed building is divided into four quadrants each of which equally introverts in contemplation of its interior court. As opposed to the usual typology of residential apartments that tend to scatter the balconies along the peripheries of buildings, we provide the residences with “bridge” balconies extending out of the reception areas. From the outside, the oval garden is perceived through the framing, long, blade-like balconies.
